LI Golf Academy Philosophy:

The LI Golf Academy summer program offers instruction, practice and play activities designed to give juniors the necessary knowledge and experience to become lifelong golfers while nurturing their enjoyment of the sport itself. Improving the playing ability of the junior golfer is our primary objective. In addition, the Academy stresses the concept of total youth development - social, physical, emotion and mental - throughout the program.

Mike Wade, Director of Instruction: Head Professional at Eisenhower Park Over 20 years of golf experience Developed the ABC 123 Golf Module Director of Programs and Instruction for "The First Tee of Nassau" Borough Coordinator for the South Shore of NY Golf In-Schools program Eisenhower Park Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY is home of the 1926 PGA Championship won by Walter Hagen and features three 18 - hole golf courses as well as a practice range, chipping and putting area and sand traps. The Red Course is presently home of The Commerce Bank LI Classic on the Champions Tour and has hosted the Bouchard Transportation MET PGA Senior - Junior for the past four years.

The course was established as a Nassau County Park in 1944 and was renamed in 1969 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In recent years, the Red Course as well as the White and the Blue have been brought back to tournament standards with new irrigation systems and continuous improvements to the greens and bunkers. Many have said that the Red Course may be the "best kept secret" in the municipal golf circuit.
